In 2016 the community of Glengarry purchased a stretch of woodland comprised of two blocks dissected by the A87 in a bend in the river Garry. Glengarry Community Woodlands was formed to utilise this resource in a sustainable way that delivers a community benefit. This mission has led to a wide variety of projects.
The Old Depot at the woodland is the starting point for a range of clubs, activities and events throughout the year. From here, the woodland becomes gathering place, a nature retreat, a working woodland and an abundant habitat. Soon, it will also be the site of Glengarry Forest Cabins.
