GOVERNANCE

The governance of GCW is directly linked to the geographical area of Glengarry. Anyone who is ordinarily resident Glengarry can apply to become an ordinary member.

The members of the woodland meet at least once a year to vote for a Board of Directors, ask questions and receive reports of the GCW's progress. This happens at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our next AGM will take place on 12th September 2023.

The Board of Directors set the strategic direction of the organisation and meet regularly with the Development Manager who takes the day-to-day operational decisions.

Articles of Association

Glengarry Community Woodlands is, at its core, formed and directed by the community through our members. There are three types of membership:

Ordinary Members: are people over the age of 18, who ordinarily are residents in Glengarry. They can vote in the AGM and be elected to the Board of Directors.

Associate Members: are people who do not live in Glengarry but who support the work we do.

Junior Members: are Glengarry residents between the ages of 12 and 17 who support the work we do.
