Biography
I have a reasonable standard of education, a varied range of working and life experience(s) and retain an open and enquiring mind. I have a fundamental “what’s the problem – how can we find a solution” kind of attitude. I believe that I could be relied upon to help GCBS address “issues of concern” in the local area.
Skills
I am familiar with organisational groups and achieving progress through meetings. I am a “plant” in psycho-speak – in other words I’m an “ideas person”.
I am essentially a practical person – I can work out how to do practical things. I like to “fix” things.

Skills
My skills in IT, experience of running a small tourism based business and knowledge of the area from living here most of my life should help overcome many of the challenges faced in the running of Glengarry Community Benefit Society.
My previous experience on the board of Glengarry Community Woodlands and the Glengarry Trust should prove beneficial for the operation of the board of Glengarry Community Benefit Society.
Biography
My wife, Ros, and I converted my mother's house in Invergarry to a self-catering holiday let in 2013. My mum had here since 1990 and we had been regular visitor. When Mum moved to Inverness, we converted the house into a self-catering let that has run successfully for 10 years. Work we couldn't do ourselves went to local businesses who we advocate strongly to our guests. Both of us have experience working for large organisations and of setting up small businesses - that gives us a wealth of experience in navigating operational issues and managing customer relationships.

Skills
We know the area well and have business et-up and operating experience in local tourism. Our business attracted visitors from Europe, USA and the UK giving us insights into the choices visitors make, how to address their pre-booking questions and how to maintain a good reputation when thing go wrong. We recognise the value of the Community Woodland, the benefits it bring to the Glengarry area and therefore how important it is that its ventures succeed.
